Do I have to have Hot Date installed to use this set?
Yes.

I placed a podium similar to this on Vacation Island or in Old Town, and it disappeared when I took my Sims on Vacation. Will this one disappear too?
The dining podium in this set has been edited so that it will appear on Vacation Island and in Old Town. An unedited podium will appear in build mode, but disappear when Sims visit the lot. All the other pieces in this set have merely been categorized for Vacation and Unleashed. You can download the objects here, or categorize them yourself with Paladin?s Sim Categorizer.

Ok, I placed the Podium in my Hotel, but it doesn't seem to work. The Maitr'D tells me that they are renovating. Why?
In order to use the set you must place at least one podium, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher/sink, and trash compactor in the restaurant. This will generate the Maitre'D, Server, Cook, Bus Boy and Mariachi .

I placed the piano in my hotel lounge, but no pianist shows up. Why?
.To generate a pianist you must place the piano inside the walls of the restaurant. I find if the piano is to far away from the restaurant, for example in the lounge next door , the pianist will not show up.

All of the NPC's show up, but the Maitre'D still will not seat my Sims. Why not?/Can children eat in the restaurant or just adults?
Vacation Answer: Both adults and children can order from the podium, however you must install the dtcontroller file found at the top of this page in order to view the children's animations.. If you get the message that all tables are full, just click on the podium again. The Maitre'D can be quite snooty, but will eventually give in, and seat your Sims. This can also happen with the unedited podium when downtown in Hot Date.
UPDATED Unleashed Answer: If you have Unleashed installed you must use the DTController downloaded from the link at the top of this page. If you are using any other files named DTController you must remove them before children will be able to order from the podium. The dtcontroller now includes a downtown build mode enabler.

Why won't my Sims family sit with each other in the restaurant?
While the families are on Vacation, they are controlled individually, and therefore can not be seated at the same table. It is the way the object is written. I find that my Sims will not stay together much on Vacation anyway. They all want to do their own thing, and their free will in Vacation seems to be stronger than in previous expansion packs. If you want your Sims to eat together while the family is on Vacation, place a buffet table in the restaurant. The bus boys do a much better job of cleaning up the place than the maids.

Can my Sims cuddle in the cuddle booth while on Vacation?
Sims can take a date on Vacation, and use the set as it was intended. While on a date Sims, should be able to use the cuddle booth providing they are "in the mood."

Will the Sim tourist eat in the restaurant also?
Yes. At first, it did not look like the other Sims were willing /able to eat in the restaurant. Further testing showed that both children and adults tourist will eat in the restaurant. However, they do seem to be more inclined to taking food from the buffet table if the buffet is also in the restaurant.

And last by not least...

Everything works great, but sometimes a balloon appears above my Sims head that says "Missing Animations." What does that mean?
UPDATE- This problem has been tackled. The animations for the booth are included with the updated Unleashed Podium. They are included in the DTController.iff file found at the top of this page. In order to use the file you must delete any other files with that name.
