Downtown Kids Set

How would you like to spend your entire life as a child unable to leave the house without your parents unless you are going to school, no mall, no movie theater, no hanging out with your friends at the park. It doesn't sound like a lot of fun does it? Now is the time to give the Sim children a little bit of freedom. :-) This set has bee edited to allow children to go downtown on their own. When they get there, they can shop for a gift for Mom; what mom doesn't like to get a pretty necklace or mothers ring from their little angel. Or if the kids want they can just hang out, eat tons of ice cream and play pinball till their fingers ache. Sorry kids, you won't be able to order any drinks while you are there, but who knows maybe a soda fountain will be coming to downtown before you know it.

Unzip to all files to your GameData\Objects folder.
This set includes the following items from the Hot Date expansion pack.
downtown controller, phone plug in, canning station, cash register, clothing rack, counter displays and gifts, dining podium, display case, flower displays and flowers, food counters, koi boat, magazine stand and magazines, dressing room mirror, clothing rack (sorry no formal available for kids), musician, picnic basket, rental shack, pedestrian market.
Download Mucho Visitors Hack
Pedmarker included in the above set is hacked to allow children downtown, the mucho visitor hack also includes a hack that will allow more visitors in downtown. Please only use this pedmarker if you have enough free ram for to use it. It will take up additional memory, because their are additional visitors downtown.
Those on a dial up connection may want to download individual pieces of the set.
Additional Information.
* Remove any downtown build mode enablers (dtcontroller.iff) before using this set. A new build mode enabler is included with the set.
Unzip to all files to your GameData\Objects folder. It is a good idea to place them in one sub folder for easy tracking
These objects are not clones, they are replacement objects. If you have trouble with any of the items not working for kids, look for a duplicate file somewhere within you Maxis folder. DO NOT remove the objects found in the Expansion Pack 3 far, only additional .iffs outside of the original far.
All objects do require Hot Date.
The hack does not include an invite option, but other kids from the neighborhood will come downtown through the ped marker. You may also want to use Sim Enhancer to change some of the townies to children.
Children will be able to "go elsewhere" when they are downtown, so be sure they have plenty of pocket money.
If you would like to allow children to invite other Sims downtown, download the Evening Rain Fountain from Candle Light Sims. It will change the children (internally) into adults for a short time. If two children drink from the fountain, one of them can invite the other downtown. By the time they reach downtown they will be changed back to children. The fountain does not change the way that the Sims look, only the way they act. In the past this was the way that we had to get kids downtown, but when they got there they had nothing to do. Now they can get there with or without the fountain, and when they do get there they will have plenty to do. :-)
